A Bath Basement Kitchen

Total Cupboard Costs: £21,940

We instantly fell for this kitchen, it was probably the tiles that lured us in, especially the curved ones. Chipped, curved tiles were unearthed from the renovation site, so the owners of this property decided to reinstate some new ones. That decision shaped the kitchen, a little something to get the design kick-started, and the satisfaction of putting a bit of history back into a building, we love that whole thought process.

The kitchen feels interesting, very cool and a little utilitarian due to the tiled walls and floors and the simple colour palette. A neat, compact run of Shaker cupboards housing both the cooker and the sink gives way to a spacious area for a petite Dairy Table and plenty of space to hang out. It reminds us a little of a ‘chef's table experience’, watching everything happen in front of your eyes and feeling part of it all.

This Georgian terraced house in Bath has generous rooms and some unique features throughout. The style of this kitchen has made a big impact on the house, a little bit edgy but still appropriate and functional. We particularly loved the introduction of the dark wooden Dairy Table, this piece has the ability to change the feel of a room. The slightly industrial vibe of the space is softened by its presence, such a clever choice and switches the room to feeling totally unique and not obviously industrial.

We have such clever designers here at deVOL, in this case, Jordan from our George Street showroom in Bath, and such interesting and dynamic customers. The collaboration of like-minded people and their desire to make a special room is always so impressive when you get to see the finished space and how it works and feels.
