MEng Architecture with Environmental Design
Edward studied Architecture with Environmental Design at the University of Nottingham, graduating in 2021 with a First Class Degree. During his studies, Edward developed a passion for designing sensitive and welcoming spaces, with a rigorous examination of building materials and the embodied and sequestered carbon related to them. At university, Edward won a competition to design and build a pavilion at Wirksworth Art Festival using reclaimed pallets. Edward’s final year thesis project, a bamboo pavilion, went on to be constructed in the Milton Keynes Council office.
Some other exciting projects Edward has been involved with include creating and running a VR environment at TEDx Bath for Yasmeen Lari's humanitarian housing project in Pakistan, as well as designing and building installations in both 2022 and 2023 for the Forest of Imagination Art Festival in Bath.
Here at deVOL, Edward is part of our Project Management team. Working closely with our Kitchen Designers, Edward guides our customers from 2D drawings to fully completed kitchen cupboards, ensuring each detail has been thought through and works beautifully in practice.
In his free time, Edward enjoys furniture making and fine woodworking, using reclaimed wood and predominantly hand tools. Creations have included coffee tables, play shelves for his nephew and items for his workshop. Edward also likes to go climbing outdoors and taking long country walks in the Charnwood area.
