We are always being asked by customers and magazines for photographs of galley kitchens but they are quite hard to come by. When I opened my computer this morning a very kind customer had taken some beautiful shots of his new kitchen, they were beautifully styled and photographed.

The kitchen is in  Hither Green, London and has been part of a renovation project on the whole house. The customer explained they had. ‘knocked through the original back wall into a small lean to that originally housed the toilet, and fitted double french doors (the french doors are concealed behind the blind in the photos) this has created a view to the south facing garden and provides plenty of light into the kitchen. They have also been able to create a small utility room at the rear of the kitchen that houses the new boiler, washing machine, and microwave, this is such a sensible move as it allows you to have a really well designed kitchen without the compromise of un-attractive appliances. Not always possible I know, but always worth a thought if you want your kitchen to look as sleek and streamlined as this one.

The accessories in this kitchen look great too, the industrial lights came from a shoe factory in Nottingham and the other bits and bobs were collected from travels. My favourite piece is the beautiful cream soup tureen, I love the elegance of this beautiful piece of china against the contemporary feel of the kitchen. The mix of things that you wouldn’t  instantly think go together, but just do, they create a much less contrived look than sticking to one theme.

The Shaker cabinets in this kitchen are painted in ‘Mushroom’ with ‘Carrara’ Marble worktops, a really good combination and the one we have chosen for our showroom.
