We are getting a great reputation here at Cotes Mill, not only for our lovely kitchens, which of course goes without saying!! but, for our ever increasing and changing selection of vintage and unusual gifts, furniture and oddities that you won’t find anywhere else.

We have some collections of objects that when gathered together look so beautiful in their simplicity, I decided to take some shots of them in my new shoes!!

Norwegian Glass Floats, spheres of glass, some cased in netting, some the netting is gone so whats left is just beautiful hand blown glass………

these balls of glass are very old and the delicate colours of the glass are quite mesmerizing if put near a window, they are £20.00 each

Old French mustard pots, these crackled creamy white pots make lovely storage vessels when a few are clustered together, I love several together on a window sill with some old  rose pink peonies.

A lovely way of giving a gift of flowers, these jars range from £5.00 – £15.00

These brightly coloured, slightly rusty and very old, delicate, metal trivets are from France, they look like lace and create amazing shadows when hung near the sunlight. Hang them on your  walls or stand an old jam jar on top full of wild flowers on the kitchen table. I’ve never seen these trivets for sale anywhere before, I’ve seen them in old French houses but not to buy, so they are a real treat to have and are just £10.00 each.

Vintage french cheese strainers, these quirky little pots are charming and come in all sorts of shapes and sizes, all different. I thought ‘what do you do with a pot that’s full of holes’? then I decided it would be a lovely way to serve fresh berries to your dinner guests, little pots of berries freshly washed and strained and ready to eat and when you’re not feeding your friends they make a perfect little dish to keep a bar of soap or a bulb or two of garlic.

These old french salad baskets are a little too wonky and rusty to actually use in the kitchen, but hanging from the kitchen ceiling in a cluster they look ethereal in their delicateness. I’m not a fan of hanging baskets at all, but line a few of these spindly cages  with damp moss and fill with a pretty trailing daisy or white geranium and that would be a treat to hang outside your window or front door. They are for sale here at the Mill for £20 each.

Original printing blocks from India, these little works of art are so popular with our customers at the Mill, we sell lots so try to always keep a few in stock. The intricate patterns are all different, mostly floral swirly designs, these blocks of old dark wood are just lovely little objects to pop in a glass cupboard or on a shelf. They cost £20.00 – £25.00 and make a really lovely present.

Our last little collection today is some very clean and tidy vintage Hungarian linen. These exceptional quality tea towels are all different, the colours of the fabrics and embroidery are just right. They make lovely little table cloths, or for lining a bread basket or a little guest towel hanging on your basin, or maybe, just as a tea towel!!! They are all £15.00 each
