My Little Shaker Kitchen

10th July 2012

I just found out that my house is still on rightmove under the sold section, 2 years on. There are images of the whole house as it used to be, I had completely forgotten how it looked and it was a reminder of all the work that was done.

The kitchen used to look like this!

And now it looks like this!

Its a very small kitchen and I have mixed Shaker cabinets (painted in linen), vintage cupboards and a Smeg fridge. The kitchen miraculously not only houses the cooker and fridge but an integrated dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer.

A bespoke wall cupboard that makes full use of a little bit of wall, I love the spot cutouts and the little vintage brass knob.

Lots of collections of jars on our lovely Shaker shelves and an old school wall chart of some runner beans from ‘Antics Antiques’ on Eccleshall Road in Sheffield, a good little shop for something different.

I hope this goes to show that however small your kitchen is it can work, you just have to be selective about what you keep and don’t try to cram too much in.
