The Doves new home

10th April 2013

By Helen Parker

The Doves and Peacocks arrived to their new home safely after a short journey from Melton in the back of a van. The doves were placed inside the netting that surrounds their home, a technique used to encourage them to nest and get used to their surroundings. If all goes to plan when the net is moved they are so happy and settled they don’t fly off. They have a lovely home so lets hope they don’t, although it is taking them some time to venture up to their individual front doors! they even have a ladder to guide them!!

Once the Doves are settled, the Dove Cote will look little a more appealing, see Tim’s photograph below!

one day soon we hope!

one day soon we hope our doves will think of Cotes Mill as home and settle on their perches like these happy birds.
