An amazing Clerkenwell Design Week & a beautiful new kitchen range!

22nd May 2015

By Zoe Parker

We have just finished packing up the stand, and have sent our beautiful new Sebastian Cox Kitchen off in the van back to Cotes Mill after the best Clerkenwell Design Week ever.

We couldn’t have hoped for a better reaction to the new range, everyone loves it just as much as we do. Homes & Gardens magazine have already snapped up the lovely Pantry Cupboard for an upcoming photo shoot, how cool!?

I took a few photographs of our stand at Clerkenwell Design Week to share with you…

Our stand in the Details Pavilion had such a buzz about it, there were journalists, interior designers, architects, students, members of the public all coming along to chat with us and see the full kitchen and all of its lovely details in the flesh. Hearing all of the amazing compliments made us feel very proud, and hearing lots of people say how they’d never seen a kitchen like it before made us realise that this really is something very special.

Everyone just had to touch the kitchen! the sawn beech door panels have the most incredible texture to them and the solid Oak worktop is perfectly smooth, oh and it’s pretty much impossible to resist poking your finger through the copper piping cut-outs!

The fact that The Sebastian Cox Kitchen is British grown, British Designed and British made seemed to be something that people really connected with, they loved the natural, organic feel and the way the cupboards breath a sense of effortless style and simplicity. Everyone also seemed to agree that the deVOL and Sebastian Cox collaboration was a pretty great idea!

As you may have guessed by now, we really really love cacti and succulents here at deVOL… so it was a super easy choice to keep it simple and dress our stand with these cute little things. We wanted to keep it natural and uncluttered, and we definitely didn’t want to cover up the beautiful woven Beech panelling in the back of the glazed wall cupboards. This latticed detailing is what Sebastian is known for, so incorporating this into the design was a must for us, but we had to keep it practical and a little more kitchen friendly… I think we got the balance pretty spot on!

We all had an amazing time at Clerkenwell Design Week, what a perfect place to launch The Sebastian Cox Kitchen by deVOL!  We’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who popped by and said hello to us in the Details Pavilion, and to everyone who has shown The Sebastian Cox Kitchen lots of love!
