‘it doesn’t get much better than this’ – love for the new Sebastian Cox Kitchen spreads to across the pond!

It’s amazing how simplicity can generate so much buzz. Yet it’s the simple rustic beauty of our new Sebastian Cox kitchen that seems to have got everyone so excited. True, ‘rustic’ isn’t usually a word you’d associate with cutting edge design but maybe it’s because it’s so different to so many of the other kitchens out there that it feels really fresh and modern. Quirky cool design magazine, Dezeen, agrees, labelling the design as ‘urban rustic’.

But it’s not just UK trendsetters who seem to be head over heels for this Kitchen, big name design-bods from across the pond are falling for its urban rustic charm, with blogs popping up in the US, Canada and Europe!

Last week we shared the amazing news that US based Remodelista, the authoritative sourcebook for interior design, had chosen us as their kitchen of the week! And it turns out that they can’t get it out of their heads, with the Sebastian Cox Kitchen inspiring them to go on the hunt for the perfect farmhouse table, one of which being the gorgeous deVOL shaker table.

International one-stop-shop for all things design, Modenus, has also been calling to see more of both deVOL and our extremely talented collaborator, Sebastian Cox, in the US. We quite like how they dubbed it ‘a perfectly unfitted fit’. It kind of suits what we were trying to achieve, combining raw texture with the practical and elegant simplicity that deVOL is known for. They clearly thought it was a winning combo, claiming on Twitter that ‘it doesn’t get much better than this’!

Critically acclaimed Canadian based design blogger, the Marion House Book,  loved how the use of dye instead of paint allowed the wood to play a central role. Exclaiming that it’s a ‘pity, it’s not available in Canada.’

Whilst Etxekodeco, a Spanish blog known for being at the forefront of beautiful design, felt the kitchen had ‘a palpable honesty, both in concept and in the finish’ which created both a simple and elegant design.

We’re so passionate about British design, British makers and British materials. This kitchen encapsulates this ethos, which is shared by both ourselves and Sebastian, and we’re so happy that word of exciting British talent is spreading overseas.

We now have all the information and pictures of the new range on the Sebastian Cox Kitchen page of our website, available here.
