At the weekend my boyfriend surprised me with a trip to London highest public garden at 20 Fenchurch Street. We arrived at the base of the contemporary building and were transported to the 35th floor within seconds. At the top we stepped out of the lift and experienced the fantastic views and elegant architecture of what is known as the ‘Sky Garden’.

Designed by world-renowned architect Rafael Viñoly and completed in spring 2014, this new building is nicknamed the ‘Walkie Talkie’. It is the fifth tallest building in the city of London and is a prominent feature of the sky line alongside the Shard and the Gherkin. The ‘Sky Garden’ itself has only been opened a matter of months but offers amazing views of the city from a garden in the sky. It’s spacious design and fresh atmosphere makes this room an experience as well a view point. Designed not only as a tourist attraction but as a beautiful piece of design.

Although the building is not my favourite architectural construction in London, the ‘Sky Garden’ is a serene environment where you can take the opportunity to sit back and appreciate the beauty of London from within a stunningly designed space.
