WINNERS!

2nd March 2016

By Zoe Parker

We are so proud and soooo happy to announce that The Sebastian Cox Kitchen by deVOL is the winner of the Homes & Gardens 2016 Kitchen Design Award!! How cool is that!?

Helen & Ben Flannaghan from the deVOL Design Team and Sebastian were presented with the amazing award at a lovely ceremony held at the British Museum last night. Myself and Brogan, who does all of Sebastian’s PR and business development, also went along to the ceremony to cheer the guys along and take lots of photos and videos. We all had such a fun evening, chatting away to all of the other nominees and lovely people from Homes & Gardens, drinking Champagne and enjoying the show.

We can’t believe we have won this award, it’s such a huge achievement and we would like to say a very big thank you to Homes & Gardens and all of the amazing judges for picking our kitchen!!

I took a video of the moment we were announced as the winners!!…

And here’s Ben, Sebastian & Helen looking very happy with their awards and that very big bottle of Champagne!

We would also like to say a big congratulations to all of the incredibly talented people who were shortlisted for an award, and of course to all of the winners too. To be recognised amongst all of you guys is an achievement in itself for us.

Here’s a photo of all of the winners…

And a very big congratulations to Kit Miles, who took home the extremely highly regarded ‘Young Designer’ award for his beautiful ‘Ecclesiastical Botanica Wallpaper‘. Homes & Gardens said “It was the exquisite detail and lavish colour combinations of his Ecclesiastical Botanica Wallpaper that won designer Kit Miles this award. His work champions hand craftsmanship, used to ensure the highest level of detail and quality in every product”.

Designers Barber & Osgerby also had an amazing night, winning two awards! They took home the ‘Bathroom Designer’ award for their very innovative ‘Axor One Shower Control‘. And the ‘Furniture Designer’ award for their cool ‘Collector Cabinets’, which were designed for Glas Italia. The designs combine UV-bonded curved glass with black-stained solid-wood and are intended for showcasing collectables and random objects.

Homes & Gardens don’t normally do a ‘Lifetime Achievement’ award, but they had to bring it back for one-night-only to recognise a very special lady. Barbara Chandler is a long-serving H&G design correspondent, and was given this award for her amazing work as specialist design journalist and contributor to the British design industry. Barbara is well known for championing young designers and emerging talent, everybody got up on their feet and cheered very loudly for Barbara as she collected her award and gave a lovely little speech on stage. It was a very special moment.
