What a start to 2017!

It’s all go go go here as we prepare to open our London showroom next Tuesday! We’ve been so busy recently we’ve barely had a chance to sit and look back on the last two months, but it’s only when we did that we realised how amazing it has been. Not only has our new showroom come together to be a thing of iridescent beauty but we have had some really incredible features too. As one half of our little PR team, my job involves chatting with magazines and sending them our latest projects, news and different things we think they’ll love. It’s always so cool to flick though your favourite mag, spot a deVOL Kitchen and think ‘I was part of that’…of course it’s a massive team effort, from the original design, to our wonderful production team, to the guys in the workshops making the kitchen and our expert fitters, to Helen and Tim going to take the most beautiful photos and then finally to me and Zoë, who just try to make sure as many people as possible get to see these special projects.

We always add all these amazing features on the Press Coverage page of our website but I thought it would be nice to share some of our favourites from this year…

Front-Covers--edit

There’s something so special about a front cover feature and we’ve had two really lovely ones in the last couple of months. First, luxury London lifestyle magazine, The Resident, featured our stylish Queens Park Kitchen in January and then last week we received a very exciting package from the Netherlands with this gorgeous issue of Residence magazine. It’s quite a striking front cover, the deep green of our Peckham Rye Kitchen looks so classic with the cool pink lettering. I love receiving magazines from other countries, I find it so cool to think that someone may be sat in a little cafe in Amsterdam with a coffee and Stroopwafle, swooning over a deVOL kitchen. In fact, me and Zo are heading to Amsterdam tomorrow for her Birthday weekend, maybe that will be us!

Living-etc

Living etc. is one of our absolute favourite mags so to be featured twice in the March issue is pretty exciting. To the right is a great feature about Kempshott Road, a beautiful five bedroom Victorian property that doubles as a Photographic Location house. We first clocked eyes on this stylish Shaker Kitchen when the lovely owners sent us some photographs a few months ago and loved every inch of it, but the whole house is seriously cool. It has that unassuming opulence that I have completely fallen in love with! Grand chandeliers, ornate fireplaces and a fabulously moody colour pallet, if you do get a chance I’d definitely recommend picking up this month’s copy of Living etc. to see this home, so much inspiration! And you also get to see this lovely feature on the left of our super cool basement Sebastian Cox Kitchen at our Tysoe Street, London showroom. The copper worktop has become a huge hit with the press and our customers, this shot has already been in Elle Deco Country and Utopia, and our customers can never resist running their fingers across the beautiful metal surface, which we of course encourage as that’s what makes it have that wonderful aged effect.

Seb-Cox

It’s not just Living etc. who have fallen for the Sebastian Cox Kitchen’s charm this year, the Daily Mail’s YOU magazine were wooed so much by the kitchen’s ‘rustic chic’ that they did this amazing double page feature of our Cotes Mill showroom. Like YOU, The Simple Things also opted for our urban rustic kitchen at Cotes Mill for their ‘things to want and wish for’ piece, whilst Essential Kitchen Bedroom Bathroom swooned over this little corner of our London showroom and all of the gorgeous plants that we got from In With the Old, a lovely gift shop just down the road from us on Exmouth Market.

Not to feel left out, our Classic English Kitchen projects have also had some really great features. Our fabulously dramatic Peckham Rye Kitchen had a really lovely double page feature in the ‘Interior Design’ section of Country Life and The Guildford Dairy Kitchen looked amazing in the February issue of Period Living. It’s hard to believe that this dreamy barn was once a derelict cow shed!

deVOL-Classic

There was also lots of love from our favourite bloggers, especially about our new Curiosity Cupboard. Carole King of Dear Designer fame said as soon as she saw this beautiful cabinet she couldn’t wait to share it with her readers, Remodelista, one of the coolest interiors blogs in the world, chose it as one of their ‘current obsessions’ and top US blogger Kirsten Grove wrote that she was ‘head over heals’ for the whole room.
