If you love to cook, the most important feature of your kitchen is a table, so your family and friends can become part of the passion. This maybe through involvement or just being there enjoying the aromas and the end result. This is made even better if there is a view and access to your garden, so you can make the most of every opportunity to watch your garden grow and pop out for a handful of fresh herbs whenever you fancy. Because of course, if you love to cook you love to use fresh herbs and probably love to garden too.

It’s always a dilemma for those who love cooking and gardening,’ which shall I do today’ and if the sun is shining there is the added choice to just sit or barbecue!

Lots of clear work surface is a must in a cook’s kitchen too and if it is near your sink and bins that’s perfect. A big island that incorporates all these items and a view of the garden is about as good as it gets for a cook.

Washing, chopping and rolling will all be a total pleasure on a big Island and the clearing up is easy too, making the next time even more appealing. Add slab of Carrera marble to your wish list, it’s cool surface is just perfect for those who like making pastry, the marble looks great too and very traditional in all Italian kitchens. If you’re into dough and kneading, the bread maker always recommends wood for its warming properties, so a collection of big chopping boards is a nice addition.

People, who love to cook, love ingredients, so having their packets and jars all in one big pantry cupboard is a necessary luxury. Opening your pantry cupboard and seeing everything there before you is not only practical, but allows you to conjure up your next feast knowing exactly what you have to hand.
Finally, cooks love their pots and pans and bowls and plates and utensils so keep them close to your cooker on simple open shelves, easy to use, lovely to see and just ready and waiting to be used.
