The best brunch in Berlin

25th November 2015

I totally forgot to blog about this place when I visited Berlin a couple of months back, in fact I can’t believe I haven’t blogged anything from my trip to Berlin yet!!… but I’ve noticed lots and lots of people are heading to this crazy cool city for a little Christmas break, so I thought now would be the perfect time to share this lovely little brunch spot with you. Better late than never, right!?

But… before we start talking brunch, I’ve got to tell you that Berlin is for sure my favourite city that I’ve visited so far, I loved it so much. If you’ve been, you might know what I mean when I say it’s just such a cool and chilled out place. The people, the shops, the cafés and restaurants, the bars, the music, it’s just all so cool. That’s the best way I can think to describe it. It’s not pretentious, or perfect or trying to be anything that it’s not, it’s just a city full of interesting stuff and I love it.

Anyway, back to the point of the blog and the trendy little brunch spot that is ‘Le Bon’ in one of my favourite Berlin districts ‘Kreuzberg’…

I’d read about Le Bon on a few trusty blogs and it had amazing reviews, so we hopped on the Berlin underground, known as the ‘U-Bahn’ to locals, and headed straight there…

I loved the tiles on the platform, the colours of them, it all just looked so lovely and old school and a totally different vibe to the London Underground that I’m so used to.

Le Bon is situated on a quaint, quiet little corner in a pretty neighbourhood. It’s very unassuming and you could quite easily miss it, I think we walked past a good five times before we realised the place we were looking for was right in front of us. But I kinda like that, just sitting there quietly, waiting for you to stumble upon its loveliness.

I love the style of this place, it’s very minimal and uncomplicated yet still cosy. With chunky wooden tables, a mix of odd chairs, simple tall white candles, antlers on the walls, industrial lighting, exposed brick and some lovely plants and succulents dotted around in old terracotta pots.

Now for the most important bit… the food! Ahhh it was so yummy. Josh went for the pulled pork breakfast bun with a fried egg and veggie crisps on the side, and a beer, of course. I went for the granola pancakes, with maple syrup, fresh fruit compote and Chantilly cream, and a homemade juice served in a cute little milk bottle with a straw. The food was amazing and surprisingly inexpensive. The perfect way to start a day of exploring.

I know Berlin is full of tasty and trendy brunch spots, but for me, Le Bon tops them all… so if you’re planning a trip to my fave city, go and check this place out!

You will find Le Bon at Boppstraße 1, 10967 Berlin, Germany & you can visit their website here.
