An Heirloom Kitchen of grand proportions

Total Cupboard Costs: £9,240

Stepping down from the terracotta floored window display, you enter a spacious, airy room, with a soft and delicate palette of colours. This big space, and the design of this kitchen, is reminiscent of under-the-stairs kitchens in English stately homes.

Our idea was to enjoy the function and practicality of our generously proportioned cupboards, without creating an austere feeling, the soft, barely-there, plaster-coloured walls were key to this space working.

We added some functional bits, the generously applied Cream Subway Tiles and the very cool janitor's sink area, but then we added a little glamour too. A grand (absolutely massive) copper canopy, a brass sink, a good old chandelier and a couple of carefully considered pieces of art.

The room is grounded by a rich, dark wooden floor, an incredibly important part of the whole design, it gives gravitas to the room and makes everything feel authentic.

The feeling when you walk into this display is the vastness of the space, yet the softness and warmth it radiates. Warmth and comfort can work alongside function; it is so important when creating a family friendly space that people feel at home and comfortable.

This kitchen is a mix of Classic English furniture, Heirloom pieces, and deVOL accessories, the perfect choices for a traditional looking room with just a little quirkiness in the small details. It’s always those little details that really take a beautiful kitchen into something rather more special.
